Selected papers presented at IWSP-2015 will be published by Elsevier in the journal Applied Surface Science. Guest Editors of this issue are Robert Bryl and Robert Kucharczyk. Applied Surface Science is Elsevier's journal devoted to applied physics and chemistry of surfaces and interfaces. For details, please visit http://www.journals.elsevier.com/applied-surface-science.

We invite you to contribute to the IWSP-2015 issue of Applied Surface Science. Papers should represent original work within the scope of Applied Surface Science not previously published and not being considered for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts based on invited lectures are welcome to present a wider context and possibly contain some perspective view. All previously published material shall be fully acknowledged and respective permissions shall be procured prior to submission, if appropriate. The manuscripts shall be final, clear and completely edited as to grammar and contents. In preparing your manuscript, follow the usual style and format requirements of the journal. We direct your attention to the journal Guide for Authors.

However, we would like to stress out the following specific requisites:

• ONE SUBMISSION PER PRESENTING AUTHOR:
  As a rule, every presenting author is permitted to submit only one contribution to the proceedings, despite the actual number of his/her accepted conference presentations. Of course, he/she may co-author more than one proceedings paper, providing that the other contributions are presented and submitted by other IWSP-2015 participants.

• RESTRICTED MANUSCRIPT LENGTH:
  Due to constrained total volume of the proceedings issue, papers should be limited to about 12 printed journal pages per invited and about 8 printed pages per contributed paper.

• SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
  All submissions must be done via Elsevier’s Editorial System (EES) at http://ees.elsevier.com/apsusc/. To ensure that all manuscripts are correctly identified for inclusion into the special issue containing the IWSP-2015 proceedings, it is important that you select 'SI: IWSP-2015' when you reach the 'Article Type' step in the submission process. NOTE: Submission window for the IWSP-2015 issue will be open as of June 15, 2015.

• SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
  All papers should be submitted by August 15, 2015. In order to publish the IWSP-2015 issue in a timely fashion, we ask all authors to meet this deadline strictly.

All contributions to the IWSP-2015 proceedings will be refereed according to the strict peer review procedure of Applied Surface Science. Papers which fail to meet the journal standards will be rejected.
